Philosophy

Congress Asset Management strives for preservation of principal and consistent income through a diversified portfolio of high quality bonds in the intermediate maturity range. Consistency of approach and adherence to sound fundamental analysis is the basis of our conservative investment process.

Investment Process

The investment process utilizes a fundamental analysis of the yield curve, business cycle and credit quality to identify attractive investment sectors. Focus on intermediate term investment grade securities to preserve capital and provide a continuous income stream. The Investment Policy Committee (IPC) is the central-decision making body, consisting of all investment professionals of the firm. The IPC meets weekly to review relative attractiveness between Government and Corporate bonds and analyze the yield curve. The IPC determines the portfolio structure based upon the weekly review and adjusts the portfolio accordingly.

Sell Discipline

Fundamental deterioration of the credit quality of the security takes place.

Upon comparative analysis, a new security is judged significantly more attractive while maintaining portfolio diversification and improving quality and income stream.
